Coalition Warplanes Airdrops Arms Supplies to Hadi Loyalists


(MENAFN- QNA) Coalition warplanes of the operation Al-Hazm Storm dropped arms supplies by parachute today to support the People's Committee supporting Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansur Hadi in the governorate of Aden.

People's Committees sources in the governorate said Al-Hazm Storm warplanes carried out a drop of weapons and communications equipment to the People's Committees in a number of position in downtown Aden.

The sources confirmed that the airdrop operation was successful, adding that the People's Committee fighter found all the weapons and collected them from different areas.

The operation came as fierce clashes were continuing in Aden between forces loyal and President Hadi and Houthi militants.

Local sources in the governorate said the clashes expanded to the street leading to the Republican Palace. Meanwhile commanders of the Houthi group announced that they controlled the centre of the governorate including the Republican Palace, but People's Committees sources said clashes were still raging, confirming that the Houthis made no progress towards the Palace.

Coalition warplanes raided at dawn todayHouthi militants positons and troops loyal to deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh in governorates of Sana'a and Taiz.

Yemeni military sources said the shelling focused on air defence camps and weapon depots of which a big part was destroyed.
