Jordanian planning minister meets with Italian foreign minister

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Imad Fakhoury and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, agreed to devise a memorandum of understanding between the Jordanian and Italian governments on developmental and technical cooperation for the next three years.

During a meeting on Wednesday, the two ministers discussed ties between the two countries and ways of cementing them in various domains, especially in economic spheres.

They also discussed the Syrian refugees crisis whereas Fakhoury said the massive number of Syrian refugees on Jordanian territory places major socioeconomic and financial pressures on the Kingdom's economy and infrastructure. Fakhoury spoke about the Jordan 2015 Response Plan to the Syrian refugees crisis and the donors conference held in Kuwait yesterday.

The Italian minister pledged that his country will continue to support Jordan to help it grapple with the refugees crisis.
