(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Stock Exchange index continued its upward trend Tuesday, gaining 152.16 points (+1.32%) when the bourse closed at 11,673.45 points.
The market capitalisation increased to QR 631.23 Billion from QR 623.51 Billion registered Monday.
The traded value today jumped to QR 403.81 Million with a volume of 8,077,731 shares from 4,729 transactions compared to QR 360.72 Million with a volume of 7,647,841 shares from 5,039 transactions on Monday.
Indices of five sectors advanced while two declined today.
Banks and financial sector index topped gainers, up +2.56% to 3,196.4 points. Insurance advanced +1.49% (4,211.65 points), telecoms +1.34% (1,330.33 points), consumer goods and services +0.94% (6,900.26 points), and industries + 0.76% (3,764.69 points).
Real estate index dropped -1.13% (2,344.47 points) and transport dropped -0.20% (2,410.11 points).
From the 43 listed companies on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading today. From these 24 gained, 12 declined and five remained unchanged.
