Jailed man held blackmailing young girls via social website


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 27: Police have arrested a Bedoun youth for blackmailing girls via the social networking website reports Al-Anba daily. According to security sources the suspect lured his victims to send him their photo and threatened to post them on social media if they refused to give him money. According to security sources the blackmailer is serving time at the Central Prison for an unidentified offense. Some of his victims said the youth claimed to be a university student and looking for a prospective bride. He also claimed to belong to a rich family. He was caught after the case was handed over to the E-crimes department of the Ministry of Interior.

Cross-dresser thief: Personnel from the Capital governorate have arrested a Kuwaiti cross dresser for breaking into lawyers' offices and beauty centers reports Al-Rai daily. During interrogation the suspect has admitted to committing more than 30 thefts and spending the money for gambling. Security source said the arrest came after several cases of thefts were filed by lawyers' offices and owners of beauty centers. During investigations police discovered the suspect was clever enough and did not leave behind any fingerprints. Moreover while committing the thefts he always covered his face with a mask. However the police set a trap for him and caught him red-handed in Ahmadi. He is believed to be a former criminal and served time in prison. During initial interrogation he denied the accusations but after he was shown the evidence he admitted to the charges and guided police to the hideout (home) where he had stored some of his loot including cosmetics worth KD 120000.

Couple held with drugs: Hawalli securitymen arrested a Kuwaiti youth with his female compatriot in possession of Shabu. The lady was involved in a financial case worth KD 560 in Salwa area says Al-Seyassah. Security sources said the youth and the lady aroused suspicion of patrol officers as they spotted them inside a car. The officers noticed the suspects were jittery so they asked them to pull up for checking. It was then they uncovered the 24-year old lady was wanted in a civil case. They went on to conduct a search inside the car and found shabu. The suspects were referred to concerned authorities.

Cars impounded: The Jahra traffic police during comprehensive security campaign have impounded four cars and issued 132 traffic citations. A security source said such campaigns are being organized in various areas of Kuwait.

Minister visits injured: Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled visited Major Saoud Al-Harbi and Sergeant Major Fawaz Al-Anzi of the Farwaniya Traffic Department who were injured while trying to restore traffic on the Fourth Ring Road. Sheikh Mohammad cheered up the two injured officers and listened to the medical staff on the progression of their treatment and steps to be taken for their complete recovery affirming that personnel from the Ministry of Interior make great sacrifice to ensure the safety of Kuwait and its citizens and the ministry will spare no efforts on their medical treatment in order to expedite their return to work hand-inhand with their colleagues. He wished them speedy recovery.
