SAB chief lauds ARABOSAI role in combating corruption

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Chairman of Kuwait's State Audit Bureau (SAB) Abdulaziz Al-Adsani on Monday commended the role of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) in the combat against corruption.
The organization works constantly to build the capacity of Arab auditors through joint training programs, Al-Adsani, who doubles as Chairman of the ARABOSAI Executive Council, said.
He made the a statement in a report to the opening session of the 51st meeting of the Executive Council, read on his behalf by First Deputy Chairman of the Council Osama Bin Jaafar Faqih.
The combat against corruption requires effective cooperation by all audit institutions, he said, noting that the his tenure as chairman of the 50th meeting of the Council saw more experience sharing between ARABOSAI and the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).
Since the first meeting of the INTOSAI expert team for strategic planning in Vienna, Austria, in last November, ARABOSAI has been holding training courses for Arab auditors in light of the results of that meeting, he pointed out.
The three-day meeting of the Executive Council is scheduled to discuss the reports of ARABOSAI's technical committees on a range of issues.
Representatives of the State of Kuwait chair thee of these committees, namely the Professional and Audit Standards Committee - led by Saud Al-Zamanan, the Strategic Planning Committee - led by Mohammad Ashkanani, and the Institutional Capacity Building Commiittee - led by Faisal Al-Ansari.
Kuwait's delegation to the meeting is led by Assistant Secretary of SAB Yusuf Al-Mazroui and includes director of the oil discoveries and refineries control dept. Abdulrazeq Abdulkareem and first media coordinator Dana Al-Awadhi.
