Kuwait covers kidney transplant expenses for Syrian girl


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait Red Crescent Society is covering costs of kidney transplant for a 10-year-old Syrian girl.
KRCS Chairman Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer told KUNA on Friday that a donor is a providing a kidney for the girl whose two kidneys are no longer functioning

She has been subjected to dialysis three times per week, thus suffering from excruciating pain.

The Kuwaiti society has taken the initiative to cover the transplant expenses, estimated at USD 25,000.

Al-Sayer clarified that one of the child's parents would be donating the healthy kidney for their loved one.

Teams of the Kuwaiti society have touring Syrian villages and towns offering help to anyone in need, particularly under current war circumstances.
