Wholesale Price Index Rise 0.7% in January in Kingdom


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) The wholesale price index for January 2015 rose by 0.7%, compared to its counterpart at the same period of 2014 as a result of the changes witnessed by the major sections consisting the index of wholesale prices.
In its monthly report to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) indicated that the sector of miscellaneous manufactured goods rose by 3.4%, followed by the sector of food and live animals by 2.5%, then the sector of beverages and tobacco by 2.4% and the sector of chemicals and related products by 2.2%.
On the other hand, the sector of other goods witnessed a decline by 2.3%, the sector of machinery and transport equipment by 1.4% and the sector of manufactured goods classified by material by 1.2%, then the sector of animal and vegetable oils and fats by 1.1%, while the sector of raw materials except fuels and the sector of metal fuels and related products remained at their previous level each with no change.
