For9a.com Launches Officially its Free Youth Education Website on Saturday
(MENAFNEditorial) AMMAN–A large and dynamic event will spearhead the launch of For9a.com, the first and largest web portal in the Arab World that provides youth with free and equal educational opportunities, scholarships, capacity building and opportunities to build their skills. The website, which began as a humble blog but expediently grew into to a professional website, offers young Arabs access to fellowships, training courses, conferences, seminars, cultural exchanges and prize competitions.
The event, expected to be bring together around 1000 people, will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 5:00pm at the Ras Al Ain Gallery, also known as the Hanger. Entrance will be free of charge and the event will begin with an inaugural video presented by the UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, Mr. Ahmad Alhendawi. The event will also feature success stories, artistic skits and around 50 organizations that offer educational opportunities to youth for different socio-economic backgrounds. There will also be a panel session featuring a group of prominent experts who will speak about education and youth development.
For9a.com was launched by Leaders of Tomorrow, a non-profit organization that aims to empower teenagers and young adults so they are able to become dynamic responsible citizens within their communities. For9a.com is an initiative that aims to empower and train youth to access and promote equal opportunities and enhance youth employability, a major concern and obstacle facing Arabs in the region.
For9a provides more than 40 opportunities per week - in both Arabic and English –that are featured on its website and via various social media channels such as: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and Instagram. It also coordinates with multiple local radio stations to publicize available opportunities, and works on outreach to encompass underprivileged youth in various areas across the Kingdom that do not have access to the Internet.
On a monthly basis, For9a delivers much-needed courses in marginalized areas to train youth on CV and cover letter writing, in addition to job interview skills.
For9a website Founder, Dr. Sami Hourani, expressed his firm belief in investing in youth education and for them to develop skills that will help them advance in their respective communities. "It's important to provide youth with opportunities to pursue academic degrees and build their capacity in order to enhance their competitiveness in the job market," said Mr. Hourani.
The For9a website has attracted 146,000 visitors last December and the For9a Facebook page has more than 267,800 followers and over 100,000 active users per day.
The new For9a website allows relevant organizations to feature their educational and capacity building opportunities on the web portal by creating an account at no additional cost. The event will also mark the official launch of the For9a mobile application.
By partnering with numerous organizations, embassies, institutions and universities, the For9a website is now able to extend academic scholarships and fellowships, in addition to access to lectures, conferences, training courses, volunteer events, cultural exchange opportunities, competitions and awards from across Jordan and the world.
