Turkish PM says further interest rate reduction would benefit investment
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) - Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Thursday he believes further interest rate reductions by the central bank would benefit investment and that he sees a declining trend in yields continuing in the coming months.
Priority must be given to putting rates on a downward trend, Davutoglu said during a news conference at the World Economic Forum. Turkey's central bank lowered its main interest rate onTuesday but drew a swift rebuke from government ministers, who said the 50 basis point cut was not enough.
