Surplus funds should be returned to treasury: PM
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour assured on Wednesday that his government will not accept any financial surpluses in any public institutions without returning it to the treasury.
Ensour was replying to a complaint by a lawmaker during a Lower House oversight session that millions of dinars worth of surplus funds belonging to the Aqaba Development Corporation had not been returned to the treasury. Ensour asked the finance minister to investigate the MP's claim.
Also commenting on criticism by an MP that the system and regulations governing the work of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority were vague, the prime minister said that he agreed that some problems existed in the authority, but added they will be addressed.
