Proxama strengthens board
Mike Woods will be chief executive officer of the Payments division while John Kennedy will be chief financial officer. Both join the Proxama board with immediate effect.
The new division comprises Proxama's CardGateway operations and the recently acquired Aconite business.
Woods was chief executive and chairman of Aconite Technology the company he founded in 2000.
Kennedy was most recently divisional finance director at RAC Motoring Service. He will lead the development of business opportunities across the UK and North America and will be responsible for guiding the Payments division through its consolidation and growth across the proximity commerce - near field communications payments and so on - industry.
Proxama's chief executive Neil Garner said the new directors' expertise and experience would be invaluable to Proxama as it grows.
"The next 18 months is critical in our development where we will see the integration of the Aconite business with our existing CardGateway payments business and expect to make significant headway in North America and Europe" Garner said.
"We expect to further develop strategic partnerships for our consumer engagement activities with TapPoint where we believe we are very close to the tipping point for consumers using mobile proximity technologies" he added.
