(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iranian Foreign Mohammed Javad Zarif will arrive here for meetings with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on Friday, a visit that coincides with the arrival of US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The French-Iranian talks will address the ongoing talks between the P5+1 and Iran on the latter's nuclear program, diplomatic sources told KUNA here on Wednesday under the condition of anonymity.
The talks will fall within the framework of the efforts to get an agreement with Tehran to renounce any ambitions to develop a nuclear weapon, in exchange for the lifting of crippling economic sanctions and assistance developing a peaceful, civil nuclear industry for the country's energy and research needs.
The sources would not say if any meeting between Kerry and the Iranian Foreign Minister was planned, either with Fabius on board of separately.
US officials could neither confirm a Kerry-Zarif meeting Friday but it is confirmed the US official will travel here to meet President Francois Hollande and Fabius.
