Qatar- Woqod opens second vehicle inspection centre

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Fuel (Woqod) yesterday inaugurated its second centre for vehicle inspection (Fahes), in Mesaimeer.

The centre close to the company's fuel station, offers a single window service system, ensuring motorists' comfort and smooth workflow.

The facility, equipped with all contemporary technologies, is built at an estimated cost of QR18m, over an area of 6,500sqm.

At the centre, dubbed 'Smart Fahes', motorists can get their vehicle technical inspections done while sitting in their cars. This is being seen as a relief by them because at other facilities, they are required to get down from their cars even during scorching summer.

It is the second of Smart Fahes projects after the opening of the first in Wadi Al Banat last December. Four are in the design and construction phases in Al Wakra, Al Shamal, Al Shihaniyyah and Al Khour and are expected to open this year.

As part of a plan, Woqod will also establish several smart inspection centres at its fuel stations where there is sufficient space to them.

The second centre was opened under the patronage of Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Chairman, Woqod. The ceremony was attended by Woqod Board members, Woqod CEO, Ibrahim Jaham Al Kuwari, representatives from the Traffic Department, concerned public authorities and departments, Woqod's management team and guests.

Al Kuwari said: "We are pleased to inaugurate the second centre for vehicle inspection in Mesaimeer region.

"We are proud that these centres are a pioneering experience in the technical inspection of vehicles, as they are built according to the highest modern standards of the single window system to ensure comfort and smooth workflow," he said.

Fahes Smart inspection centres guarantee the accuracy and centralisation of inspection data, thereby minimising the manipulation of data by employees or other agencies and ensuring high reliability of the electronically produced reports (paper reports have been done away with).

Through the single window system, the centres also allow clients to pay for traffic violation tickets and insurance premiums, if they want, with the centres playing an intermediary role between the client and insurance companies.
