U.N. Chief Welcomes Proposal for Korean Dialogue


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)  U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Monday welcomed a proposal from South Korea to begin a high-level dialogue with North Korea in an effort to improve relations on the Korean peninsula.
In a statement from Ban€„¢s office, the U.N. chief applauded the move towards an inter-Korean exchange, saying that he €Åsincerely hopes€€Œ that the North€„¢s authorities €Åpositively consider the proposal and engage in dialogue.€€Œ
€ÅThe Secretary-General reiterates his belief that renewed engagement and dialogue is the only way forward for building trust and promoting inter-Korean relations,€€Œ the statement said. €ÅHe will not spare any efforts to support such meaningful engagement.€€Œ
