Saudi- Prince Salman to honor winners of King Khaled Award
(MENAFN- Arab News) With the support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah the King Khaled Foundation (KKF) will hold its annual presentation ceremony to honor the winners of this year's King Khaled Awards.
According to the organizing committee Crown Prince Salman deputy premier and minister of defense will attend the gala event on behalf of the king and will distribute the awards to the winners.
The King Khaled Award (KKA) comprises three categories: Development partners excellence for non-profit organizations and responsible competitiveness. This year's award went to three individuals and six entities including non-profit and commercial firms. Last year's winners received a total amount of SR1500 million in cash prizes.
The first category goes jointly to 'Ahdhan' the Creativity Center for Saudi Women and Vital Architecture. The Women's Renaissance Charitable Society (Nahdah) the Faisaliah Women Charitable Society and the Association of Down Syndrome Voice won the second category of awards.
The 'responsible competitiveness' category went to three national companies namely the National Petrochemical Industries Company Binzagr Unilever Limited and the Saudi Investment Bank.
Expressing his gratitude to the leadership of the event Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khaled the KKA chairman said the presence of the Crown Prince indicates the level of support for such noble works stressing their constant concern for stimulating every avenue that could consolidate positive citizenship.
'King Abdullah dedicates his support to the non-profit organizations that underscore its role in the Tenth Development Plan' Prince Faisal said adding that this aims to develop the efficiency of social services in line with international standards while also seeking to strengthen the spirit of volunteerism and charity to improve performance and to enhance its contribution to social development.
According to him the development plans made the non-profit sector a partner in the process of overall national development and called it the third sector that is synonymous with the public and private sectors. It also creates a legislative and regulatory environment to govern the work of the non-profit sector thereby promoting comprehensive growth.
