China and Kazakhstan Discuss Security Cooperation

(MENAFN- QNA) China hopes to enhance cooperation with Kazakhstan on the fight against terrorism and drugs.
This came during discussions Kazakhstan's Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov held with member of Chinese State Council Guo Shengkun during a visit to the Kazakh capital Astana.
Shengkun expressed China's interest in coordinating efforts with Kazakhstan to enhance security cooperation, law enforcement, the fight against drug trafficking, border guarding and securing of oil and gas pipelines along the border between the two countries. That will take place within the framework of bilateral mechanisms and regional anti-terrorist structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
For his part, Massimov underlined Kazakhstan commitment to cooperation with China in the fight against what he described as the "three evil forces", namely terrorism, separatism and extremism, adding that it would seek to deepen comprehensive cooperation with China in economy and trade, energy, law enforcement and security fields.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan said due to the excellent location of his country, Astana fully support and hopes to participate in China's initiative to build the "Silk Road Economic Belt".
