Qatar- RasGas, QP hold safety drill
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) and Qatar Petroleum (QP) recently conducted a large-scale crisis management exercise within Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) to test their respective multi-level emergency response capabilities.
The joint exercise was the first time that an oil and gas sector company has integrated its response with State-level government agencies, major operating companies at RLIC and mutual aid agencies, to this scale. It included the General Directorate of Civil Defence and Hamad Medical Corporation's Emergency Medical Services.
The QP-led exercise, hosted by RasGas, allowed for a comprehensive evaluation of existing procedures and communication protocols as well as major-event disaster management involving heightened security and mass casualty handling. The successful completion of this exercise was further enhanced by a RasGas-led workshop where participants were debriefed and feedback was obtained from independent observers.
All agencies were commended for their cooperation and proactive efforts to continually improve and develop the robust mechanisms in place for crisis management within the industry.
