World Human Rights Forum begins in Marrakech, Kuwait attends
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The World Forum on Human Rights kicked off here on Thursday in the attendance of over 5,000 politicians, NGOs, experts and Nobel peace prize laureates from 94 nations, including Kuwait.
Representing Kuwait at the talks, which end on November 30, is head of the parliamentary human rights committee MP Abdulhamid Dashti, committee member MP Humoud Al-Hamdan and the Kuwait Embassy's Third Secretary Ibrahim Al-Arfaj.
The talks aim to provide a joint platform for contributors and decision-makers, from the different backgrounds, to discuss issues affecting the matter, and how to hasten reforms pertaining to human rights' affairs.
The forum has allocated 200 slots for discussion, meetings and workshops that will cover all the various aspects of human rights, including civil, political, economic, social and environmental.
Attendees will assess progress made and will identify documented shortcomings on the matter over the last ten years.
Other topics on the agenda include the rights of the elderly, women, employment and wages, gender equality, youth and children, people of special needs and immigrants.
Furthermore, the forum is set to observe the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Saturday
