Countdown to UAE National Day: Umm Al Quwain
Flamingos cormorants palm trees the Dreamland Aqua Park and huts on the beach. Umm Al Quwain may be the least talked about (and least populated) emirate but it gets our vote for the most relaxing one.
There’s a lot you can do here apart from partying till the wee hours that is. But with a distinct small town feel and easy access to the other emirates Umm Al Quwain is perfect for a weekend or even just for a day trip.
There’s a museum to see beaches to walk on Lebanese and Arabic buffets in restaurants and plenty of spots where you can listen to the waves. Public transport is limited. There are no buses here. You either drive or you can take cabs.
Sailing is a good idea here along the coast. Hire a boat at the Marine Club and explore Sinaiyah island across the Creek. An easy family getaway this tiny emirate offers a lot for the kids. A glimpse of falconry the camel tracks the horse stables and the overall natural beauty of the lagoon.
It’s a good idea to travel around Umm Al Quwain and discover aspects of ancient Bedouin culture you may not have seen in developed modern downtown Dubai.
