UAE- Tamil Nadu rejects Keralas dam plea
In his reply to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy’s letter seeking his intervention to lower the storage level of the dam considering the safety of the people living in the valley of the Periyar River Panneerselvam said that the State’s request to restrict the water level 136 feet was against the Supreme Court verdict.
Reiterating Tamil Nadu government’s stand that Mullaperiyar dam was structurally hydrologically and seismically safe to store water up to 142 ft he has requested the Kerala government’s cooperation to implement the court order.
