Saudi- Hail Specialist Hospital to get 500 more beds


(MENAFN- Arab News) Deputy Minister of Health Affairs Mansour Al-Hawasi has announced the launch of a project to furnish the Hail Specialist Hospital with an additional 500 beds to the value of SR240 million.

He said the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in Hail has been allowed to appoint foreign consultants in order to support medical staff in the hospital.

He took the opportunity to point out that the ministry has obtained 54 consultants in various medical fields to support the hospitals in the region. He indicated that their work in the Hail region will begin in a month.

Al-Hawasi added that the Hail area has not received any new projects for more than 25 years noting that this has essentially doubled the responsibility of the Ministry of Health.

He said that the projects in Hail are being implemented with the support of the leadership and the mayor of Hail. He said that this has accelerated the work to ensure that all projects are completed on time including the 500 beds in Hail Specialist Hospital as well as the extra 200 beds for the Obstetrics and Gynecology 300 for Hail General Hospital 200 beds for the Mental Health Hospital and Oncology Center 200 beds for the South of Hail Hospital and finally an extra 500 beds for King Khalid Hospital.

Al-Hawasi said that after the completion of the projects the number of beds per 1000 persons will increase from 1.8 beds to 4.

Al-Hawasi has vowed to implement all of these projects within two years.

He added that during his meeting with Prince Saud bin Abdul Mohsen mayor of Hail he informed him that the Human Rights Commission has studied the issue of abortion with independent consultants who have given a comprehensive report that fetal mortality rate in Hail matches with national and global figures and there is no increase.

Al-Hawasi noted that through these new projects the Ministry of Health will serve the region better and achieve the aspirations of the mayor.
