UNSC condemns attacks on UNAMID peacekeepers in Sudan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The UN Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the attack on African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID) peacekeepers in Korma, North Darfur.

A group of unidentified armed men attacked on Thursday, UNAMID members which resulted in the death of three Ethiopian peacekeepers.
The members of the Security Council expressed in a statement, their condolences to the families of the peacekeepers killed in the attack, as well as to the Government of Ethiopia and to UNAMID.

The Council called on the Government of Sudan swiftly to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice, and reiterated their full support for UNAMID and called on all parties in Darfur to cooperate fully with the mission
