China Urges Foreign Countries to Stay Out of Hong Kong Affairs

(MENAFN- QNA) A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei urged foreign countries to stay out of Hong Kong affairs and refrain from supporting Occupy Central activities there.

"We have repeatedly stressed that Hong Kong is a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China and that Hong Kong affairs are China's domestic affairs," Hong Lei said at a daily news briefing when asked to comment on some countries' backing for the Occupy Central activities in Hong Kong.

The spokesman said no other country has the right to interfere in Hong Kong affairs, according to China's (Xinhua) News Agency.

"All countries should speak and act cautiously on the issue and refrain from interfering in the domestic affairs of China or sending out wrong messages of support for the Occupy Central activities," he added.
