Dh3 million donated for Family Village project


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The first waqf village in Dubai is one of the pioneering projects of Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) dedicated for the care of orphans and underprivileged children.

The family of the late Abd Alsalam Rafee donated Dh3 million to cover the costs of building and equipping a complete villa in the Family Village project.

A cheque of the total donation was delivered during a visit by Mohammad Abd Alsalam Rafee and Fahd Abd Alsalam Rafee to AMAF’s headquarters.



Mohammad Abd Alsalam Rafee said he was proud of the Family Village project that is expected to play a vital role in welcoming orphans and providing a realistic and balanced home environment where all their basic needs are met.



“I particularly commend AMAF for its role in facilitating a charitable initiative of this calibre for the marginalised members of our community.”



Tayeb Al Rais Secretary General of AMAF said the valuable contribution will cover the costs of building a complete villa to be named after the late Abd Alsalam Rafee. “We hope such exemplary contributions will encourage businesses and entrepreneurs in the country to support charity projects.”



Al Rais said the Family Village is an initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.



“The village located in Warqaa-3 area will include 16 villas residential villas and ancillary services spanning the administration building clinics and medical facilities for emergencies nursery and kindergarten playground and garden (integrated recreational area).”
