Dallas TX / October 9 2014 / Sethi Petroleum a diversified independent energy producing company headquartered in Plano Texas today announced its head Geologist Alex Gray lead a virtual classroom focused on geographical concepts at Cross Timbers Middle School of Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District in Grapevine Texas last week.
Sethi Petroleum's Geologist conducted the 7th grade accelerated science class' first interactive session of the year. The lesson primarily focused on Earth Science specifically topographic maps.
"I am excited to have had the opportunity to show bright young minds the practical applications of lessons learned today in action tomorrow" says Gray. "There is great demand for talent in the field of Earth Sciences and I am very pleased to have inspired the next generation of industry leaders."
The 25 middle school students have been diligently studying the elements of Earth Science including rocks minerals plate tectonics and Earth layers. Gray's lesson focused on the exploration of topographic maps. The presentation showed the students real life examples of how topographic maps are created interpreted and used in his field work.
"I am very happy NEPRIS gave us the opportunity to get into a live classroom" says Gray "These classes demonstrate to students that STEM-related careers are very important and many opportunities exist if they decide to pursue careers in these areas."
