Lebanese security arrests man accused of smuggling weapons into Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Lebanese security forces on Wednesday here arrested a Syrian national accused of trying to smuggle weapons into Syria, according to news reports.

The man was arrested south of Lebanon, National News Agency (NNA) said, adding it was confirmed that the man bought the weapons to smuggle them into Syria's Daraa via illegal borders.

The NNA added that slogans and media supporting Al-Nusra Front were found after inspecting his cell phone.

Lebanese army and security forces have so far arrested scores of people over the past weeks who are accused of being involved in contacts with armed groups in Syria.
