Qatar Exchange Index Gains 131.65 Points in September


(MENAFN- QNA) Qatar Exchange index gained 131.65 points (+0.97%) in September compared to August when trading closed at 13,728.31 points on the last day of the month.

The trading value of QR 13,892,873,284.31 in September is a decrease by 23.38% compared to QR 18,131,450,338.15 during August.

The trading volume of 323,218,948 shares is a decrease by 17.39% compared to 391,272,865 shares in August while the 134,963 transactions is a drop by 22.69% compared to 174,576 transactions.

Banks and financial services led the traded value with 40.48% of the total traded value. Real estate accounted for 23.30%. Industries accounted for 15.99%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 7.90%. Telecoms accounted for 6.40%. Transportation accounted for 3.43%, and insurance accounted for 2.50%.

The market capitalization of QR 736,069,836,589.79 is an increase by 2.06% at the end of September compared to QR 721,181,027,671.03 at the end of August.

Real estate led traded volume with 43.59% of the total traded volume. Banks and financial services accounted for 26.11%. Telecoms accounted for 9.10%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 7.95%. Industries accounted for 7.39%. Transportation accounted for 4.17%, and insurance accounted for 1.69%.

In September the bourse saw 22 days of trading compared to 21 days in August.
