
Mr. Michael Leahy to Speak at the 2014 CLM Litigation Management Institute
Mr. Michael Leahy Partner Haight Brown & Bonesteel LLP will be speaking on the topic “Fundamentals of Risk Transfer.” Hosted at Columbia Law School in New York City the Litigation Management Institute (LMI) is the first certification program specifically designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business of litigation management.
Mr. Leahy is a senior partner at the California firm of Haight Brown & Bonesteel. His practice of over 32 years is primarily devoted to insurance law and risk transfer issues including analysis of coverage and reinsurance issues rendering opinions drafting insurance policies and endorsements and litigating insurance issues in bad faith litigation as well as declaratory judgment actions. He acts as monitoring and supervisory counsel and national coverage counsel for a number of insurers domestically and internationally. He also defends professionals in the insurance construction and design industries and has served as an expert witness in extra contractual cases and reinsurance arbitrations.
He has lectured extensively in the United States the United Kingdom and Asia. He is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel the Professional Liability Underwriting Society the Professional Liability Committee of the CLM and a Fellow of the American College of Coverage and Extracontractual Counsel. He is a Cum Laude graduate of the Loyola Law School.
