Kuwaitis win first place in Netherlands athletics

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY Aug 8 (KUNA): Kuwaiti athletic team players Saleh Al-Hadad and Abdulaziz Al-Mandeel won the first place in the long jump and the 110 meters hurdles competitions in the European athletics grand prize held in the Netherlands. Al-Hadad won in the long jump category after jumping a distance of 7.85 meters while Al-Mandeel finished the hurdles race in 13.66 seconds head of the Kuwaiti delegation to the tournament and member of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Athletics Association Khalid Khalifa told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Friday. Athletes from the USA Cuba and Europe are participating in this event said Khalifa noting the level of expertise Kuwaiti players have reached in such international tournaments. Participating in international events is a step taken by the Association to prepare Kuwaiti athletes for the upcoming Asian athletics tournament to be held in South Korea next September.
