S. Korea's Nuke Envoy Visits Japan


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Oul July 15 (QNA) - South Korea's top nuclear envoy left for Japan on Tuesday for talks with his Japanese counterpart.



Seoul's chief delegate to the six-party talks on North Korea's nuclear issue Hwang Joon-kook will meet with Japanese nuke envoy Junichi Ihara on Wednesday to discuss Pyongyang's nuclear and missile program according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website.



The two sides are expected to address North Korea's recent activities including its move in launching ballistic missiles. The envoys will also discuss negotiations held between Pyongyang and Tokyo over the Japanese nationals abducted by North Korea.



The visit marks the first time in almost three years for the chief nuclear envoy to travel to Japan for talks with his Japanese counterpart.

The six-way talks among the two Koreas the US China Russia and Japan have been stalled since late 2008. (QNA)
