Qatar- Four more airlines to operate from new airport


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Four more airlines - Lufthansa, Air France KLM, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Oman Air - will start operating from Hamad International Airport (HIA) from Thursday. With this addition, 19 airlines will be operating from the new airport, which had its soft opening on April 30, with 10 budget airlines. The airport is set for full opening on May 27. The first arriving and departing flights of the four airlines will be: Oman Air: Flight WY667 from Seeb International Airport in Muscat, arriving at HIA at 03:00 and flight WY668 to Seeb International Airport, departing from HIA at 04:35. Saudi Arabian Airline: Flight SV542 from King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, arriving at HIA at 13:10 and flight SV543 to the airport in Jeddah, departing from HIA at 14:10 Air France KLM: Flight KL441 from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, arriving at HIA at 18:00, and continuing onto Seeb International Airport, Muscat, departing from HIA at 18:45 Lufthansa: Flight LH620 from Frankfurt Airport arriving at HIA at 20:10 and continuing onto Bahrain International Airport, departing from HIA at 21:10 Abdulaziz Al Mass, Senior Manager, Public Relations and Communications, DIA/HIA said: "HIA airline operations are gaining momentum with four additional airlines moving from Doha International Airport this week. "HIA will now service 19 airlines offering passengers a seamless travel experience through the world-class gateway we have created for our departing, arriving or transferring guests. "This is an exciting period for us and our key goal during the transition from DIA to HIA is to ensure all our travellers are informed and their travel plans are undisrupted." Qatar Airways will move its operations to HIA on May 27.
