Number of Foreign Investors in S. Korean Stock Market Tops 10000


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) oul April 22 - The number of foreigners investing in the Korean stock market is estimated to have surpassed ten-thousand for the first time. The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) said on Tuesday the number of foreign individual investors registered at the FSS stands at nine-thousand-988 as of the end of last month. The FSS estimates the figure topped the ten-thousand mark this month given it increased by 30 over the past month according to Korea's (KBS WORLD) website. It is the first time the figure topped the mark since the nation opened its capital market to foreigners in 1991. Most of the foreign investors are Americans Japanese Canadian and Taiwanese.
