Pakistan's Sirajul Haq takes over as new Jamaat Amir


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Sirajul haq senior minister in the khyber pakhtunkhwa coalition the newly elected amir of the right wing jamaat-i-islami took oath of office in lahore and indicated a significant shift in the party policy away from rigid rhetoric to more pragmatic towards challenges facing the common man

Widely regarded as a moderate leader siraj replaces more dogmatic and rigid munawwar hasan who created history by being the sitting amir to be ousted in a contest during intra-party election last month.


Unlike his predecessors in his maiden speech as his party’s chief siraj talked of problems like poverty loadshedding lawlessness and unemployment instead of focusing on religious subjects.
