A technician trainee allegedly assaulted a student on the spectators’ stadium at the end of a rugby tournament and caused him to fall down and lose a front tooth a court heard.
The 20-year-old emirati is believed to have been aggressive with the victim. he later kicked the victim on his face knocking him out and causing him to fall over the stadium stairs. the victim was left with a permanent injury after he lost a front tooth.
The defendant was not present at the first hearing of his trial in the court of first instance on the charge of assault leading to a permanent injury.
The victim a 17-year-old student said in the investigation that he was attending the rugby tournament with his friends on november 29 last year when a verbal brawl broke out between some of his friends and some other people.
“the accused came from behind and pushed me several times and asked me to leave. he did not tell me why pushed me.”
The victim was heading towards the exit when he was surprised by the accused kicking him on his neck which caused him to fall down and lose consciousness.
The victim’s friend testified that he saw the accused pushing the victim. “i told my friend to ignore him and leave the place to avoid any trouble. as we were walking towards the exit he kicked my friend on his face and caused him to fall down over the stairs” the friend said.
The accused alleged in the investigation that he assaulted the victim after the latter got close to him to beat him. he confessed that he kicked his face and caused him to fall down and bleed.
