Heavy Rains Kill Three Children in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) At least three children were killed and four others wounded due to heavy rains in Afghan capital city Kabul, said officials on Monday. The town's police chief, Col Najibullah Samsor in a press statement said that the incident took place in the 10th police district where three children were killed and four others wounded when their house collapsed due to heavy rains. He further said that many residents of the district had suffered losses due to the heavy rainfall, Kuwait News Agency reported. The local administrative officials confirmed the incident and said that many people had left their houses and shifted to the school buildings to ensure safety. The rain had flooded roads and streets, causing serious traffic problems. Earlier in February, at least sixteen people were killed and over 1000 domestic animals were lost due to heavy snowfall in different provinces of Afghanista
