QF Participates in Career Fair for Qatari Students in the U.K.


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Qatar Science Leadership Program (QSLP), a Qatar Foundation Research and Development (QF R and D) initiative, has participated in the 7th annual career fair for Qatari nationals studying in the United Kingdom.



Organized by the Qatari embassy in London, the career fair aimed to support hundreds of Qatari students enrolled in higher education in the U.



By bringing them together with various public and private organizations for potential employment and sponsorship upon graduation as it continued to prove successful in placing Qatari graduates in their national job market, a press release issued by Qatar Foundation said on Tuesda



HE Qatar's Ambassador to the U.K. Khalid bin Rashid Al Mansouri opened the fair, with Dr. Wyatt Hume, executive director of education, training and development at QF R and D, and Abdulla Yousuf Al Mulla, executive director of operations at QF R and D representing Qatar Foundatio



QSLP's participation at the fair provided Qatari students in the U.K. an opportunity to learn about Qatar's growing research sector underpinned by the Qatar National Research Strateg



"Our inaugural attendance at the U.K. career fair saw us recruit three students onto the QSLP Research Undergraduate Track last year, which is why we returned once again this year to garner further support for Qatar's rapidly evolving research sector," Dr. Hume sai



QSLP mainly focuses on fields of scientific research of strategic importance to the needs of Qatar and the wider Middle East and North African region, including technology, biomedicine, information technology, and social and human sciences. Meanwhile, the U.K. career fair also provides Qatari organizations with an excellent opportunity to attract Qatari youth currently enrolled in various universities across the U.K. In turn, it also allows graduates, and all other interested parties seeking employment in Qatar, a chance to directly communicate with the relevant recruitment center
