Pakistani Haji dies on way to Makkah

(MENAFN- Arab News) A Pakistani pilgrim who was flying aboard a Saudia flight from Karachi to Jeddah died at Qatif Central Hospital in the Eastern Province on Friday, Syed Akif, director-general of Pakistani Haj Affairs, told Arab News on Sunday. Fifty-five-year-old Shahnaz Jabeen from Karachi complained of chest pains during the flight. He said that Jabeen was part of the government Haj scheme and was flying on a regular Saudia flight, but died in Dammam after suffering cardiac arrest. The official said that two other Haj pilgrims also died of the same cause in Makkah. Akif said 540 medical personnel from Pakistan are scheduled to arrive in phases to serve the Pakistani Haj medical mission.
