Qatar, Uganda Agree To Update Air Service Agreement


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) The State of Qatar and Uganda have agreed to updating the air service agreement the two countries had already signed. This came following talks held at the Civil Aviation General Authority headquarters here on Monday. The state of Qatar represented by Civil Aviation Authority has signed an open sky air services agreement with the Republic of Uganda t 26, 2013 at the Civil Aviation Authority premises. The agreement entitles Qatar airways " the national flag carrier" of the state of Qatar to operate an unlimited weekly flights ( passenger and cargo) between both countries. Vice chairman and Director of Air Safety Dept. Ebrahim Abdulqader Al-Janahi signed for the state of Qatar while kalumba Kagawa , the Assistant commissioner in charge of Air Transport in the Ministry of works and transport signed for the republic of Uganda. Similarly, in a signing ceremony, the civil aviation authorities of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Burundi finalized the Air Service Agreement, which was initialed in March 2010. The agreement allows national carriers in the two countries operating seven flights weekly for passengers and cargo services between Doha and Bujumbura. It also allows code sharing and operating within both intermediate and beyond points. The agreement was signed by Abdul Aziz Mohamed Al-Nuaimi; the chairman of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and Mr. DioGartias Rorimoz; the Burundi minister of transport and public works. Burundi is currently the least connected country in Eastern Africa, with regular air services only provided by Brussels Airlines from Europe, by Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir and Air Uganda from within the wider Eastern African region and by South African Airways from within Southern Africa.
