Saudi- Internet campaign to help illegal workers
(MENAFN- Arab News) Â Pakistan Writers Club Riyadh is starting an Internet campaign for illegal workers who are looking for jobs to legalize their status before the amnesty ends on July 3.
The club posted a list of 68 Green companies for possible transfer of Red category workers to their businesses.
So-called Green companies have sufficient numbers of Saudis employed according to Labor Ministry guidelines. These companies are permitted to hire workers from companies in the Red category. Red companies do not have enough Saudis on the payroll.
Members of the Pakistan Writers Club requested everyone to use different media to help the people who need help.
They posted a list online of different companies who need workers in different fields. "We did this so all of them who are looking for jobs can find the needed jobs," said Faiz Al-Najdi, member of Pakistan Writers Club. "At the same time it will help the companies who are looking for employees to work. We feel sorry for our brothers who are in trouble, though our embassy and consulate are helping. But a large number of workers affected are going back, and it's our social responsibility to help them in their plight."
Another member, Khalid Hussain, said that his company is looking for workers as painters, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, tile fixers, steel welders and drivers for Alkhobar/Dammam companies.
"If anyone wants to transfer his sponsorship feel free to contact me," he said. "This campaign will not only help workers but many of the companies who are looking for skilled workers."
Ismail Samy, another member, said it is good to see the Pakistanis now uniting and standing shoulder to shoulder with one another.
"Other nations have done this long back and we see many people from their side filling vacant positions," he said. "We are now out in full force. We will soon cover up much lost ground. Through this campaign, a lot of people will be able to get jobs and can fix their status."
Pakistan Writers Club is also putting all the information and news needed to stay up to date with the ongoing scenario to keep the public and community informed.
