Saudi- 120 doctors suspended

(MENAFN- Arab News)  Jeddah Health Affairs has suspended 120 doctors working in hospitals and clinics in the private sector for not having the right qualifications. The departments in which these doctors were working have been closed down. Ten Jeddah Health Affairs teams worked on investigating the doctors' qualifications over the last five months. The doctors have been suspended from work until they complete their certificates. In addition, Health Affairs fined their employers. Jeddah Health Director Sami Badawood said the investigative teams made 1,677 visits in the last five months and closed down 18 health facilities. He said doctors and technicians without licenses were taking advantage of the shortage in medical staff and practicing using permits that had not been renewed, with the same thing happening at medical centers. He said the facilities were closed due to their consistent violation of regulations. The director responsible for investigation at Jeddah Health Affairs said that inspection of these medical facilities will continue.
