Iran to set controlling budget deficit as main priority

(MENAFN) IRIB quoted Iranian Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Ehsan Khandouzi as saying that managing budget shortfall is going to be at the top of priorities of his ministry in the next Iranian year.

“In particular, we strive for the Planning and Budget Organization (PBO), the Ministry of Economy, and the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) to have the most coordination on economic policy-making,” Khandouzi further declared, highlighting the requirement for coordination among government entities.

"Economic experts should have access to information so their access to the latest economic situation and statistics in the country should be facilitated," the official added, saying that the necessity for incessant communication amid the Economy Ministry and the country’s economic experts and scholars is important.

He also stated that financing the government and guaranteeing economic development were also amid the major priorities of the ministry during his tenure.
