Pakistan- No restrictions in recreational activities in FATA, says Iqbal Jhagra
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zafar Iqbal Jhagra stated that there are no restrictions on the initiative of recreational activities in Federally Administered Tribal Agencies (FATA).
Speaking on the occasion of convocation of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, he assured that there is no restriction on holding political jalsas or rallies in tribal areas however it is important to seek permission from the political administration of the concerned area.
When asked about the Fata reforms act, he maintained that work is under way and assured its completion in the near future.
He also maintained that the FATA jurisdiction extension bill will be approved in senate in the next session.
He concluded his speech on saying that about 97% of affected displaced persons of FATA have been repatriated.
After much protests and agitation by the people of FATA, the National Assembly passed a bill on 30th January for extending the jurisdiction of Supreme Court and Peshawar High Court to FATA and the bill is yet to be approved by senate
