Somaliland- Berbera Corridor Programme background notes

Somalilandsun- The purpose of this Note is to provide a summary of the background and current status of the proposed Berbera Corridor Program, a component of the US$ 1.8 billion Horn of Africa (HoA) Initiative.
In October 2014, the World Bank Group (WBG) in partnership with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), African Union, United Nations, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), European Union (EU) and African Development Bank (AfDB), together launched the Horn of Africa (HoA) Initiative with a high-level visit to the region.
The initiative aims to bring greater international focus to the Horn's many security and development challenges whose origins and consequences go well beyond the borders of individual countries.
