Doha: A group of three Pakistani photographers have joined hands to showcase a different perspective of Qatar.

The project called 'Qatar Through a Crystal Ball allows viewers to see different locations in Qatar through a crystal ball. It helps viewers to focus on the unique aspects of Qatar's architecture, landscape and people.

Crystal Ball Photography (also known as Refraction/Glass Orb Photography) is a trending technique of using the glass orb to create interesting images. A glass orb acts as a fisheye lens and tries to show a 180-degree view while it also flips the image upside down.

The project is the brainchild of a Qatar based blogger and photographer Shehar Bano Rizvi who blogs under the name of Diary of a PMP Mom (Webiste: Instagram: Facebook: ).

Shehar Bano is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Software Engineer by profession. Diary of a PMP Mom is a peek into her life, an expat woman living in Qatar for the last 14 years, who worked as a Project Manager at a leading bank in Qatar before she became a mother and made the choice to be a hands-on mom.

These are the tales of her journey as an expat mum of 3 where she shares her trials, tribulations and lessons learned over years of expat life in Qatar alongside the interesting side of raising children in a different culture.

The blog covers various topics from food, lifestyle, home decor and organising, party planning, DIY projects, travel, reviews (products, food, movies and books), parenting, photography and so much more! She blends her Project Management Professional (PMP) skills with motherhood to empower other women through her own experiences.

Shehar Bano also uses her blog as a platform to show the amazing side of Qatar to her thousands of followers across the globe, from a resident's perspective. In-line with Qatar's increasing focus on boosting tourism in the country and as a result, opening the free visa entry for 80 plus countries, she wants to take this opportunity for showcasing Qatar as a tourist destination.

Her blog projects a positive image of the country to show that Qatar is a destination for every traveller Whether you are looking for traditional souqs or modern shopping malls, luxury hotels or off-beat places, heritage sites or museums, modern art or the finest Islamic art or simply a family friendly destination Qatar has something for everyone! She is also working on blog posts where she will be showcasing the various things to do, places to visit, places to stay and eat in Qatar.

'The Qatar through a Crystal Ball project was inspired by the patriotic fervour among the residents of Qatar. As a resident of Qatar for almost 14 years, I consider Qatar as our second home and wanted to pay a tribute to this amazing country. The idea behind this project was to capture Doha through a glass orb and present Qatar in a completely unique way.Since Crystal Balls have always been associated with fortune telling, this was a symbolic way for me to show a glimpse of Qatar's bright future - because sometimes you just need to look close enough at the present to see the future!, said Shehar Bano Rizvi.

The idea was further developed and collaborated with two more Doha based Pakistani photographers Najla Nabil (Najla Nabil Photography) and Sahela Jamil (RetroSalz Studio) to bring their creative energy, perspective and patriotism to the project. The three photographers took up the challenge of shooting Qatar through the crystal ball in a month's time.

Najla Nabil of Najla Nabil Photography (Instagram and Facebook @NajlaNabilPhotography)is a part-time freelance photographer, fulltime multi-tasking Mom of 2 girls. Her aviator husband and their family, moved here, from Karachi (Pakistan) nearly a decade ago. Photography has been a hobby for long, so it was only natural that she eventually decided to build on that passion and explore it professionally.

Najla Nabil Photography's tagline is appropriately 'Capturing life as it happens and that is truly reflected in her work. She is all about chasing light, building relationships, and sets out instantly to put her subjects at ease, in wanting to capture the true essence of their personal dynamic. A keen interest in portraits, is apparent on her portfolio. She also does on location (and Home Studio) family Photography, family related events, weddings, and fashion.

'This project is all the more special for me, aptly timed with our family's decade of expat living, in Doha. It opened up a fascinating genre of Photography to me, while exploring newer elements, and revisiting the trusty dated ones, in a completely new light. I've fallen in love with Qatar, all over again, and most excited to see where this takes me!, said Najla Nabil.

Saleha Jamil of RetroSalz Studio(Instagram and Facebook: ) is a young photographer who belongs to Pakistani family settled in Doha for years. Saleha was born and brought up in Qatar and having spent her entire life here, considers Qatar to be her home. Saleha has a creative eye and works as a freelance photographer. She runs the RetroSalz Studio, which provides services like Wedding Photography, Events Coverage, Couple Shoots, Family Shoots, Fashion Shoots and much more…

'For me, I think this project made me look at Qatar from a different perspective, for example getting those shots was something I loved. Since it was a new genre of photography for me, it required me to be on my own trying to get that perfect shot. This alone time, trying to photograph Qatar through the crystal ball helped me appreciate the beauty of this country and what Qatar has given us., said Saleha Jamil.

The project is kick-started on Qatar National Day 2017 and will be launched soon on The PMP Mom's blog and social media channels as on ode to Qatar, with love from its Pakistani expat community.
