Carnegie Mellon Qatar's Student Pool Rises to 58 Countries


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Doha April 29 - Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) Tuesday said the number of Qatari student applications has increased this year and the representation of student pool is up to 58 nationalities in 2014.

Computer science and biological sciences applications have reached all-time high in 2014 the university said.

Students accepted for 2014 Fall semester previewed programmes and met with faculty and alumni at a CMU-Q annual event called Marhaba Tartans.

A panel of current students and alumni offered personal insights into their Carnegie Mellon experience to new students.

Congratulating new students CMU-Q Dean Ilker Baybars said "You are a highly sought after select group of students and you have been chosen because of your accomplishments. At Carnegie Mellon University the bar is high and you will be challenged to achieve your full potential."
