Türkiye, Kazakhstan ink 20 agreements
(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed 20 agreements on Tuesday during Tokayev’s official visit to Ankara, aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The deals were finalized during both the Kazakh leader’s bilateral meetings and the fifth session of the Türkiye-Kazakhstan High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. Key documents signed include the council’s joint statement and its formal decisions, endorsed by both heads of state.
Among the major agreements was a cooperation deal between the Turkish Petroleum Corporation and Kazakhstan’s NC Kazmunaygaz JSC, signed by their respective chairs, Ahmet Turkoglu and Askhat Khassenov.
Another significant agreement involved freight transportation development via the Middle Corridor railway route, signed by leaders of Turkish Railways, Pacific Eurasia Logistics, and Kazakhstan’s national rail company, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.
Media collaboration was also addressed with an agreement between Türkiye’s Anadolu Agency and Kazakhstan’s Presidential Television and Radio Complex, signed by their respective directors.
Additional memoranda of understanding covered cooperation in financial market regulation, signed between Türkiye’s BDDK and Kazakhstan’s financial authority, as well as partnerships in media and communication, international road transport, and the development of free or special economic zones.
The agreements reflect a broad effort to enhance strategic ties between the two countries in energy, transportation, finance, media, trade, and infrastructure.
