AFU Delegation Attends Meeting Of Visegrád Group's Commanders

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A delegation of the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU), headed
by Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev, has attended a meeting of the operational commanders of the Armed Forces of the Visegrád Group's countries, namely Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. The relevant statement was made by the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on facebook , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We highly appreciate the support of the Visegrád Group's countries in a difficult time for our state. I am sure that the possible areas of attracting advisory, material and logistical assistance will contribute to the fight against Russian aggression,” Naiev noted.
In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the strengthening of mutually beneficial military cooperation between the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Operational Commands of the Armed Forces of the partner countries.
According to Naiev, the exchange of experience of organizing the work of operational commands in everyday activities and during operations is very useful, as this allows for finding new solutions to resolve certain issues and developing new ideas for the implementation of strategic plans.
Naiev briefed his colleagues on the structure, functions, activities and role of the Joint Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the consolidated troops command system.
Meanwhile, the operational commanders of the Armed Forces of the Visegrád Group's countries expressed their undisputed support for Ukraine in its struggle for independence and territorial integrity. The participants mentioned that regional security is possible if joint efforts are consolidated, and the Armed Forces of the Visegrád Group's countries are ready to provide necessary assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As part of the event, a bilateral meeting was held between Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhii Naiev and Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces, General Daniel Zmeko. The parties agreed to continue dialogue and active interaction regarding all defense matters of a common interest.
