Türkiye's intervention role in Russia-Ukraine conflict receives appreciation by World leaders

(MENAFN) World presidents at Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference valued Türkiye's role in reducing strains in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as stated by the Turkish leader.

"Almost all of the leaders I met especially thanked us for the role we played in reducing tensions in the Russia-Ukraine war. They said, 'We really appreciate and congratulate you for your role here'," Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday informed journalists on the presidential plane en route to New York from Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Erdogan joined the SCO summit as a special guest at the invitation of Uzbek Leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Türkiye attended at the high-level level for the first time since getting the discussion partner status in the organization 10 years ago.

Erdogan stated Türkiye has been following a balanced rule between Russia and Ukraine since the start of the conflict 7 months ago.

"Of course, the most important thing is the grain corridor issue," he added, noting that he discussed this subject with Russian Leader Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the conference.
