Canadian GDP narrowed 0.3 pct during April

(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Jun. 30 Statistics Canada said that the Canadian real gross domestic product (GDP) narrowed 0.3 percent in April this year.

The whole value of all the commodities and services produced in the country’s economy narrowed for the first time in a year during April because of the unmatched effect of coronavirus.

Canada’s overall economic activity stayed at around 1 percent below its level ahead of the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in February last year.

Generally, 12 of 20 manufacturing sectors decreased as gains in commodities-producing sectors, which soared 0.5 percent, were more than offset by narrowing in services-producing sectors, which decreased 0.6 percent.
