(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 14 (KUNA) - 1931 - Kuwait's Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah bans men from wearing the bisht due to the financial burden this garment was causing.


1991 - Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah addressed the world leaders a day before January 15, the ultimatum set by UN Security Council for Iraqi occupying forces to leave Kuwait. Sheikh Jaber called upon Iraq to respect UN resolutions and withdraw its forces from Kuwait.
